Water Lily – Kyungsoo fanart

Kyungsoo - Water Lily fanart

“A water lily is born underneath the water, inside the soil at the bottom of the river or lake. And the water lily has always been a water lily for that whole time that it was sprouting out of the wet soil, reaching up through the dark water towards the sunlight, stretching and grasping for the surface; where it then buds and blooms on the outside in the sunshine. It doesn’t bud and bloom on the surface and then try to reach down below into the soil.” /C. JoyBell C.

i dont know how this happened. and im really honest now. originally i wanted to draw his eyes. .. how did it progress this way i dont know : D … i wanted to draw him for long (out of neverland). i have a big (literally) plan with him for the future (as a drawing : D ). i have also started to draw a wolf fanart of him. but left unfinished.

i wanted to draw his eyes, and a reaaaaally clean light face. and i planned to spend on it max 40 mins. it ended up to be a bit more. about more .. the quote tells everything. i cant seem to get away from the Plant concept : D

i seem to be carried away with the .. several pictures over each other – thing. i had another idea with this pictures over each other while i was drawing this, but im really not sure if i will have time to draw that, its in the end of the list.

ayh. while i was painting the chairs the other days i had like about 5 new drawing ideas (detailed ones). now another 3. while i already have in my head like 7 full pictures that only waits to be drawn. not simple pictures, full concepts. plus the 3 neverland. plus one unfinished lulu that im planning to finish. im afraid to do anything, i might think up another pictures. i want 3 free months. i really need it, to go back to europe for a bit, and i also want to draw : D

ah, yea, and of course i have several new pictures in my head, but obviously none of them is for the collaboration. i have no idea what to draw, chan ^ ^’ i still have several days though.

Really can’t get over with your fanarts. 🙂 ♥
Do you trace your art or do them just by looking and drawing? They look so flawless and realistic. I am new to portrait drawings and I will be taking a class this semester. (It’s actually figure drawing 😦 ) I’m so nervous because I am used to tracing and adding details and I am overthinking that I won’t survive my class. Haha. Anyway, I would check your blog every now and then for inspiration! Thank you. ♥

figure drawing is really important!! its really enjoyable too, at least for me : D i like it. its difficult though. but i have learnt soooo much from it. i am tracing now. but i have been drawing for couple of years without tracing, and i have learnt drawing without tracing. i could draw it without tracing too if i had to, of course, but its faster now. its one of the most basic things of drawing, to be able to recreate what you see! so you should absolutely learn it, i dont even know how some others (i also know some) can call themselves anything when they cant even draw a cube in front of them, because what they did was overtracing all the time. .. you know, you will be absolutely free when you just learn how to draw whats in front of you, and by that learn whats in your own head. thats the time you can really create, and create anything. its difficult at first, especially figure drawing, the anathomy. while at constructive drawing its not that morbid if you fail to put some parts correctly to where they should be, it will turn out really grotesque on an actual person : DD but its okay, you will improve. everyone has to start somewhere. in the very beginning of figure and portrait drawing i was already happy when it actually looked like a human instead of an alien : DDD

    An awesome work!
D.O is as colorful as Sehun’s hair! Haha 😉 But kidding aside, it certainly is a beautiful artwork.
The artist originally wanted to focus on his eyes, but in my opinion, she got the his lips perfectly!
